thoughts in hand

Us
within a carousel
of swimmers and joggers
of low surf castle builders
of gulls and lost kelp
of sky and sand and ocean
and of all their speeches—
even then
sometimes
it’s just Us

Three Sisters

a tribe of Goblins
born from lovers Rain and Wind
consum’d by Silence

Time

from fertile Emptiness and Nowhere
springs forth Fire’s umbilical cord
and the joyful cries
of a fascinating Jewel
compos’d of
More than Everything

Pu

Kahuna’s pure chords
Heaven’s break of Day invok’d
so smiles Melia

(Back from 1 month Staycation with best friend from Australia.  Relinquishing the heavy party favors for normalcy.  Peace, everyone.)

endanger’d species

th’ ancients spoke of life
outside the cave—
when sounds were emit’d
from lips
till lips became fingertips
and fingertips thoughts—
when emojis became the light
in darkness
and darkness made us fear the light—
while under the eyes
of night and day
were creatures on the loose
not so intelligent
but somehow more content
within that breath of fresh air—
no longer ours

Giiwas

love’s rejection
shaman sacrifices
seeds of war—
when spirit of Sky
drown’d the fires
of Underworld’s god—
that Mazama might hatch
from its mountain cocoon
and be reborn into purity—
into Crater Lake

Life Finds a Way

our footsteps—
thoughts in a fog
of ice and flame
thrashing land’s breath—
creating new seed
from featherless ashes—
new tributaries of thirsty veins
rousing Terra—
rescuing her from her dark dream
of compost and mulch
to fructify a new tomorrow
