To Be Continued

hearing a familiar Knock
opens Time her Door
to the Cry of an Infant
waddl’d in a Basket of comely Dark Matter

She grins at the newborn Cosmos
just One from Many
bestow’d by the fortuitous Passions
of drifting Astral Clusters

further enhancing Speculation
by intellectual Neutrinos
on forever Yesterdays
on forever Tomorrows
on” Why?”
Today

Stardust

have our spirits always been
as fancies my heart?

from time’s weaning

to Eden
to redwood saplings
to when Everest was but a plain with child
to when clouds cry’d into Atlantic canyons
to when a candle yawn’d and stretch’d
and marry’d Night with Day

Oh, yes
We were there

Time

thru infinity’s door
her shadowy breath
her ghostly heartbeat
an eternal enigma
an Immortal
possessing everything
and not knowing it

Contemplation

over half a century ‘tis been
since to th’ unknown
Time first spoke
in the vocabulary of tears

and now Heaven’s Brew crashes
o’er my lodgings
into the blueness
stirring ever brightly
‘twixt th’ Eastern Valley

and tears are spoken again
on Time’s wake
binding myself with old vows
will ever I keep?

Time

for Itself…
slower than Silence

never born
never dying

hatching
virgin Emptiness
to fire and rock
to breast-feeding seas
to roots and lungs

till all becomes ash
fertilizing
hatching
fortuitous Newness

but
for Us…
faster than Light

Day

a rib
from a cage of Night
borrow’d
cast
into the breath of Stars
a Sun to birth
and bridge th’ Eternal Clock
‘twixt Dusk and Dawn

mystic dandelion

                                 be we but pollen
                                 feeding firm Emptiness
                                 knocking on Night’s sleeping doors
                                 to taste a Lifetime
                                 to aspire for Another
                                 even if Eternity be lore
                                 and beyond our reach?

                                 we’ll see

                                 or not

tree

                                       time’s been good to me

                                       my hide
                                       though bronz’d
                                       by the seasons
                                       manicur’d
                                       be crawlers and flyers
                                       and autographers
still holds fast on firm feet

                                      generations
                                      of admirers
                                      of passing glances
                                      have I outliv’d

                                      and might someday
                                      my leaves never reawaken
                                      your memories
                                      your snapshots
                                     be bless’d
                                     for making me immortal
