Any side of the Sun

palms of leaves
tir’d and slipping
from the wood
onto the bed of marl

cultivating
dreams of rainbow petals

yesteryear’s keepsake to bear
of cloudless blues

the fruits to inspire
of their own dreams
and bless tomorrow’s trees
with laughter

Hereafter

pray
rise and shine
O favorable Sun

to warm our hearts
and ope thy clouds
with splendent rain

to awaken dreams
of such Friendhood
of Love
of Harmony

that we might ne’er know
thy dusk

Merry Christmas & A Happy 2020

                                       ‘tis not but
“that time of the year again”
                                       when memory needs
                                       reminding—
be it shar’d for all seasons—
                                       a whisper of the heart
                                       on all humanity—
till is spun to a snowflake
                                       the Sun’s golden cocoon
                                       and she flies away
                                       as night

daily bread

mid morn—
kitchen window opens its eyes—
charming our nest into song frenzy—
front door reveals a friend
trying to mimic our chirp—
“Morning, pretty birds!”
our hearts beat past our wings
as wild seed fills our aerial bowl
and garnishes the feet of our tree—
“Enjoy, pretty birds!”
once again so good be life—
‘tis breakfast in Vale of Spring
