Always Now

should Tomorrow waylay Thee
with Whispers from my Heart
‘Tis but an Echo
adrift upon our mystic Orb
from Night’s other Side
ne’er to be lost

‘Tis Yesterday’s Future
less Human Energies and AI Sensors
as Implement Operators

what Succor to my Eyes
smiling across a wild Ground

Two Centuries of Goats
devouring to Satisfaction

no Lawn Mowers
no Weed Wackers
no Hula Hoes
no Rakes
no Collection Bags

Happy Mothers’ Day

          Mothers

from thy wombs
spring forth all futures

and those of kindly souls
thy past shall be eternal

Carlsbad State Park Beach

Waves panting
Whispers of Foam shoreward
from South Sea’s farthest Neighbor

Clouds playing Tag
from Checkers to Backgammon Boards

Pelican Formations gliding
nigh Ocean’s Chest

Eyes and Ears under Beach Umbrellas
their Reflections ensnar’d
by this invisible Message in a Bottle

Seasons Divide

a bridge there be
where pays warmth
for coolth a generous toll
with fuax fur pelts
wintry games
inglenooks
and hibernations wild

for Mother Earth
Her pulse
Her breath
another rife testament
that She still lives

Mime (from the Time Capsule)

granite flesh in dream—
stir’d by voices
in peripheral eyes—
flinch and freeze
flinch and freeze—
blind palms to invisible walls
top to bottom
side to side
front to back
finding no way out—
despair’d back to stone
and frozen orbs—
till virgin curiosity approaches
nearer and nearer
only to gasp in brief horror
…at a wink
