Senior Citizen

no longer holds this frame
the sinew of my youth
flying amidst the trees
hunting with patient stealth
sentrying the lands of my castle

still now I share
the bed of Mom and Dad’s laps
the dregs in their yogurt cups
and above all—their love
th’ elat’d blessings of Our home

Darkness Speaks

this morning

the sunrise warm’d my skin

my feet and hands puddl’d along the shore
o’er the last breath of each wave

my fingers tast’d of salt

the fragrance of the sea and barbecues

the melodia of seagulls and swimmers

such was Today’s shape of my perpetual night
that only a Blind Woman like myself
can digest

and be uplift’d
to a smile

Forever Us

some would surmise
that in the beginning
a Guardian Angel
became our guide
to Love

comforting our steps
thru many lifetimes
to give birth
to this moment
a happiness beyond belief

but I
have always known
that Angel
to be You

Overlook

her face

beyond her maquillage
I listen
thru refrains of seasons
to her voices

an unfetter’d choir
ever-blending
ever-evolving

everlasting
I hope
at least
till my next call

After the Rain

                                           one Morn cherish’d I
                                           when Mother Earth
                                           step’d from her shower
                                           don’d her favorite robe
                                           and invit’d Half Moon
                                           to have breakfast
                                           with the Sun and Me

Hereafter

pray
rise and shine
O favorable Sun

to warm our hearts
and ope thy clouds
with splendent rain

to awaken dreams
of such Friendhood
of Love
of Harmony

that we might ne’er know
thy dusk

Olden Love

                                          another seasons of four
                                          have we shar’d

                                          be the fog
                                          thicker

                                          the sidewalks
                                          more uneven

                                          our thoughts
                                          often lost in thought

                                          yet whenever I feel
                                          the lifelines
                                          of thy fragile hand
                                          with mine
                                          ‘tis yesterday’s light
                                          I behold
                                          in that fairest of faces

Merry Christmas & A Happy 2020

                                       ‘tis not but
“that time of the year again”
                                       when memory needs
                                       reminding—
be it shar’d for all seasons—
                                       a whisper of the heart
                                       on all humanity—
till is spun to a snowflake
                                       the Sun’s golden cocoon
                                       and she flies away
                                       as night
