Alley of the Lost

o’er the Bermuda Sea
opes randomly
a triangular doorway

its guests transmit’d
on a one-way ticket
to an unseen mystery

while failures of hi-tech
continue to enhance
the myth… or its veracity

60’s

Beatles to Hendrix
tie-dye on nature’s senses
Peace and Love movement

Blind Love

though my eyes never born

when the rain from thy words
laps upon me

the scent of thy voice
strokes my imagination

with the spectrum of darkness
that be thy peerless shadow

and I am awash with Light

Happy Mothers’ Day

from thy wombs
spring forth all futures

and those of kindly souls
thy past shall be eternal

Tripper

mini vacation

knowledge for one’s enjoyment

with laid-back wonder

Outside

old stomping grounds
of our forebears
ere cement supplant’d forests
ere the wind became trite

no wonder
our instincts
not born of fables

so for now
with even more acute
eyes and ears
will we savor these ventures

Remembering Normal

                                 at holy james’ downtown bay
                                 ‘twas someone’s future—
                                 a future after their time—
                                 way after

                                 boats anchor’d—
                                shores of point loma—
                                united landing at refurbish’d airport—
                                solar turbines—
                                star of india—
                                anthony’s—
                                pac star cruises

                               seaweed stretching from shallows
                               to surface and nursing rocks
                               bordering harbor drive—
a curious pigeon bobbing for scraps

                              too hot to be jogging
                              unless you’re a jogger

                              Tomorrow’s not soon enough

Floral Telepathy

                                           look at me

                                           let thy sight
                                           slowly fade into thought

                                          contemplate
                                          where you’ve never been

                                          inside my kingdom

                                          you the sentient

                                         the pupil
                                         of the live inanimate

                                         and graduate
                                         to savor my essentia
