Blink in Time

beheld my eyes
a glimpse of unpostur’d Beauty

a Stranger from my Youth
a transient Yen
a fleeting Dream
absorb’d by the sun’s shadow

a blissful reminder
of Spring
long lost to this Age
now here… too soon

Forever Us

some would surmise
that in the beginning
a Guardian Angel
became our guide
to Love

comforting our steps
thru many lifetimes
to give birth
to this moment
a happiness beyond belief

but I
have always known
that Angel
to be You

Offerings

more than decor

commital sacred
to Mother Earth
her sufferings
to release

to better Rebirth
to aspire

drawing all worthy eyes
to Meditation
to Devotion

to the Triple Gem
of Time’s essence

Windows

congenial black holes
welcome mats to mysteries

perhaps th’ other side
of the world
or th’ universe
or another time

or a looking glass
from unseen eyes
curious of us

at our sadness
about what was so much more
in its youth

about our wonderment
at its aging gracefully
by Nature’s witching wand

Kloof Nek to Hout Bay

two meandering souls

a quiet sail
a breeze with eyes focus’d
straight ahead

destin’d to collide
into each other’s arms

a swim to enjoy
in anxious waters

or maybe to chase a lost ball
emblazon’d with the portrait
of a child kyodo

while dreams the steersman
of a cosmic night
with Twelve apostles
in his wake

Alley of the Lost

o’er the Bermuda Sea
opes randomly
a triangular doorway

its guests transmit’d
on a one-way ticket
to an unseen mystery

while failures of hi-tech
continue to enhance
the myth… or its veracity

Outside

old stomping grounds
of our forebears
ere cement supplant’d forests
ere the wind became trite

no wonder
our instincts
not born of fables

so for now
with even more acute
eyes and ears
will we savor these ventures

Remembering Normal

                                 at holy james’ downtown bay
                                 ‘twas someone’s future—
                                 a future after their time—
                                 way after

                                 boats anchor’d—
                                shores of point loma—
                                united landing at refurbish’d airport—
                                solar turbines—
                                star of india—
                                anthony’s—
                                pac star cruises

                               seaweed stretching from shallows
                               to surface and nursing rocks
                               bordering harbor drive—
a curious pigeon bobbing for scraps

                              too hot to be jogging
                              unless you’re a jogger

                              Tomorrow’s not soon enough

Floral Telepathy

                                           look at me

                                           let thy sight
                                           slowly fade into thought

                                          contemplate
                                          where you’ve never been

                                          inside my kingdom

                                          you the sentient

                                         the pupil
                                         of the live inanimate

                                         and graduate
                                         to savor my essentia
