Someone’s Perfect Spot

a couple of arboreal neighbors
sharing a daytime scene—

hearing Nature’s tongue
an avenue of rippling voices
cheerful expressions
their sisters joining in the fast lane
making wishes to go on forever—

away from honking brake lights
away from cement
away from the Cloud—

hoping for Today’s twin
be Tomorrow

Speaks The Tree

once again
my thoughts traipse through my 6B quill
about time
about life
about the door exiting the future
about anything

then my eyes
feel the sleeping timber
imagine the hues captur’d in the grey
until I contrive purpose

and now hearing the silvery migration
I am gratify’d
