Sylvan Symphony

though imperceptible but beheld
Her Melodies be Woodlands’ Breath—
Colloquy of Wind and Trees and Lakes
 Sunshine and Moonlight
Darkness and Heaven’s Tears
and Beasts all vying for Turf—
remote from Clamor’s and Blight’s
stampedes upon Cement and Runway Skies
and Addictions to Airwaves—
for an unknown Term
Nature’s uncultivat’d Realm

Big Laguna Meadow 2024

perfum’d breeze whispering
from Her forestal sea

once widespread
till the birth of the ax and pavement

now hidden in safeness
from th’ eyes and clamor
of high rises and freeway parking lots

Desert View

tributaries
of leaf
rock
and sand
holding hands
with eyes
of a woodland sea

where our own perception
has strength regain’d

where aching shoes
be soon forgotten

Brood for Thought

no despondence
over Future’s passing

a forecast riddle
a draw on a chess board
between faith and science

part of unborn Time’s evolution?
or gangplank into Nothingness?

best not to cerebrate
best to live for living

Sequoia

proud

stand We firm
upon the graves
of Elders and Brethren

who pray’d and stretch’d
each day
towards Blue Heaven
towards Nightfall’s twinkling eyes

ere their footholds
were drown’d by Rainfall’s bender
or shear’d by bellowing Air

or Time’s final blessing

Pointers

sudden stir in grass

a breath of life on all fours

we’re focus’d as one

Overlook

her face

beyond her maquillage
I listen
thru refrains of seasons
to her voices

an unfetter’d choir
ever-blending
ever-evolving

everlasting
I hope
at least
till my next call
