Writer’s Block

senseless ink
waltzing
on a blank canvas

to the song
of a dark ocean
teeming
with broken thoughts

until the puzzle pieces
crack the scribe
with a word

then an idea

Lost and Found

an ancient room
with a doorway
to a modern past

an Empire
ere the birth
of Sibling Towers

(discovered NY photo courtesy of unknown shutterbug)

Canyon

angelic sculptors

their chisels
of wind
and rain
and heat
and cold
and tremors
of night and day

with heavenly approval
for discovery

Covenant for Love

in our rags
in our riches

could have been first sight
could have been long sharing

so certain now
so uncertain about far tomorrow

but today our eyes mirror
with surety

“I do.”

Spirit Visitation: Past with Present

our temple
now with gray hair
but still a berth of reverence

her world
even grayer
a cloak of more formal attire
but for hand-me-downs
in yens for power and blood

will another millennium
amend this bearing
or this conversation stay?

until then…

Speaks The Tree

once again
my thoughts traipse through my 6B quill
about time
about life
about the door exiting the future
about anything

then my eyes
feel the sleeping timber
imagine the hues captur’d in the grey
until I contrive purpose

and now hearing the silvery migration
I am gratify’d

Surprise Lily

born au naturel
a fox hunter’s
freshness

her descending corolla
to succumb fully veil’d
in green

to magically recede ’neath earth’s bed
and be resurrect’d
generation next
